Point1

Cheongwadae (The Blue House, Pass by)

Cheongwadae (The Blue House) is the official residence of the President of South Korea. It got its name from the blue color of its roof tiles. It is located right behind Gyeongbokgung.

Point2

Gyeongbokgung & National Folk Museum of Korea(Deoksugung Palace on Tuesdays)

Gyeongbokgung was the main palace of the Joseon dynasty (1392-1910) for around 500 years. It is considered to be the most beautiful of Seoul's five grand palaces. The palace was constructed in 1395 by Joseon's first king, Taejo (born Yi Seong-gye and reigned from 1392-1398) when he relocated the capital to Seoul. It is located inside the famous Korean palace, Gyeongbokgung. Inside the museum, you can feel, learn and experience Korean folk culture. Besides being an educational venue, the museum also conducts surveys, researches and exhibits about Korean culture. It also regularly arranges special exhibitions, special lectures, academic seminars, craft classes, cultural classes for foreigners, traditional classes and traditional performances among others.

Point3

Jogyesa

Jogyesa Temple is the center of Korean Zen Buddhism. It is also the Administrative Headquarters of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism. The temple was constructed in the year 1395 and has undergone several name changes. Around 1910, renowned monks such as Han Yong-un and Lee Hoe-gwang referred to it as Gakhwangsa. It was then called Taegosa under the Japanese colonial era. Finally, it was named Jogyesa after the Buddhist Purification Movement in the year 1954.

Point4

Changdeokgung

Changdeokgung is the best preserved of the five grand palaces of Seoul. It was originally built as a royal villa for kings. For 300 years, its rear garden (also called Secret Garden), its great old trees and its pond has maintained a harmony between architecture and nature.

Point5

Insadong

It is fun to wander around the maze-like alleys of Insadong. In its modern atmosphere, you can appreciate Korean tradition and culture. You can also find scores of galleries, craft stores, traditional restaurants and cafes.

Point6

Namdaemun Market

Namdaemun is the largest market in Seoul with over 10,000 stores. From suits, food, household items, to gifts, you can find whatever you need in this market. Clothing and accessories sold here are usually 10-20% cheaper than its regular price.
