This was a truly incredible experience! I managed to convince my brothers to give this a try because I was so excited, and we were not let down. The instructors were friendly and knowledgeable, able to introduce my non-martial artist brothers to the techniques as easily as they helped me to overcome the sheer differences in our styles (I come from a more linear, direct-striking martial arts background). In short, fun for all different levels of interest and background in martial arts!
The regular students were warm and inclusive, and the instructors mixed hands-on instruction with light introduction to theory, making for a class that was just as engaging mentally as it was physically.
At least one of the two I brought along is now considering pursuing a Taekkyon class in his area. I would recommend the experience to everyone!

My husband participated in this and really seemed to enjoy it. Instructor taught very well and was so friendly and easy to converse with. Did a great job explaining things.
Two things to be aware, it was a bit confusing to find, hidden behind a restaurant, and when done my husbands hands were a bit swollen from hitting the pads (and he has a pretty high pain tolerance, if that gives a good indication of it). But again, it was a unique and fun experience!

The class was a lot of fun! I learned a lot about the sport of Taekkyeon. The instructor was patient, and spoke a bit of English. If you are looking to learn a bit about Korean culture, I’d highly recommend this class. It’s located in Insadong, and is easy to find.
The class was definitely great exercise! It’s a unique experience that everyone should try while they’re in Seoul! Don’t be afraid if you don’t have any experience! This was my first time, and I learned a lot!

The activities here fall in 4 stages, from warm-up to sparring.
I have basics in martial arts but I found this experience to be less powerful than other martial arts, making it more graceful than others. The teacher and the students also have a welcoming atmosphere. I loved it!

I got a basic Teakkyeon class in 2 hours. I learn about basic ceremony of bound, moving step, kicking, and punching. Even I already took martial arts in the past, It was so new and interesting. The teacher is so dedicate and humor while giving lessons. The students are very kind when helping me practicing. They also like to talk with me in English. They naver let you feel isolate. After the class, I feel release from daily tired physically andmentally. If my home was near here, I would definitely sign in for the class. For your head up, you should bring 2 T-shirt because you will sweat a lot after class.

The class was very fun! We learned many fun new moves and had a great time. The teacher speaks a bit of English in case you do not speak Korean but even without it the class is very easy to understand just by following the teachers movements. I definitely recommend this class to any people interested in experiencing a unique aspect of Korean culture! Bring your friends to see who will win bragging rights for the trip! Haha ^ ^
It was really fun and exciting! I would definitely take it again and it is such a great opportunity to learn martial arts in Korea!

I visited South Korea for the first time in September 2018 . Due to my fascination with Korean culture and martial arts, i was researching the possibility of attending sessions that would allow me to experience a native martial art . This is when i discovered Mater Hwang In Mu's taekkyeon class through the "Experience Taekkyeon" program. I had a 2 hour class and it was truly amazing as you learn a lot about the art and also learn the basics to get you started. It was a one on one training hence you could easily grasp the moves and as i could also see other students in the background, it was truly an enriching experience. The entire team was amazing and i would definitely recommend it to everyone who wishes to learn more about korean martial arts.:D
